About Nylstroom Taxidermy

Inspired by the beauty, diversity, and grandeur of Africa’s wildlife, Nylstroom Taxidermy was established in 1994 with a vision to preserve hunting memories through exceptional taxidermy craftsmanship. What began as a modest single-room studio has grown into one of South Africa’s respected taxidermy facilities, operating from a modern workshop of more than 2,000 m². Over the past three decades, we have built a reputation for producing museum-quality trophies while maintaining a personal commitment to every client and every specimen entrusted to us.

Our facility is located in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, approximately two hours north of Johannesburg, in the town of Modimolle (formerly known as Nylstroom). This central location places us in the heart of one of Africa’s premier hunting regions, although we proudly receive trophies from hunting destinations throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries.

Every trophy that enters our workshop is treated with the respect it deserves. From the initial receiving and inspection process through skin preparation, tanning, sculpting, mould making, mounting, artistic finishing, and final quality control, every stage is completed by experienced craftsmen who take pride in their work. Our team consists of highly skilled professionals and artists, each specialising in different aspects of the taxidermy process. Their combined expertise ensures that every mount accurately reflects the natural beauty, anatomy, and character of the animal.

Our philosophy has always been to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques and materials to produce trophies that will last for generations. Continuous improvement, attention to detail, and uncompromising quality standards remain at the core of everything we do.
